Hermanus Tichelaar, born in Harlingen on August 22, 1890, son of Hendrik Tichelaar (merchant, workman and postman) and Klaasje Bonk, boilermaker and ondermachinist.

Hermanus was married in Harlingen on January 24, 1921, at the age of 30 to
Maria Catharina de Vries (aged approximately 24 years), born in Harlingen circa 1897, daughter of Bonifacius de Vries and Grietje Smids (koffiehuishoudster).
